In July 2020, the SAMR announced two drafts concerning health food products and launched the public consultation to solicit comments:

Key points for the technical review of the written health function claims (draft)

  • The draft was announced on July 21, 2020
  • The public consultation ends on August 23, 2020
  • The key points cover the requirements of:
    • The source and quality of the written health claims
    • Listing the intended use and health functions of the raw materials
    • Listing the product formula

Supervision and administrative measures for food labelling (2nd draft)

  • The first draft was announced on November 21, 2019
  • The second draft was announced on July 27, 2020
  • The public consultation ends on August 26, 2020
  • The measures for health food cover the requirements of:
    • The IFU
    • Labelling
    • Packaging
    • Product description
