Guidelines for Sampling Testing on Organic Foods

On December 4, 2020, the CNCA (Certification and Accreditation Administration of the P.R.C.) announced the temporary guidelines for the following 5 groups of organic food products applying for testing certification:

  • Vegetables
  • Fruits
  • Teas
  • Dairy products
  • Livestock and poultry products

Highlights of the announcement

  • Each temporary guideline addresses a list of mandatory and optional test items to be carried out by the certification body for the applicant.
  • The certification body may conduct additional test items that are optional or not mentioned in its respective guideline, however, subjected to the certification body’s risk assessment to make the decision.
  • All certification bodies may set the upper limit of the measuring range lower than the said limit in the guideline.

The temporary guidelines will become effective from July 1, 2021 onwards.
