Standard GB 15742 Revision 2019 Implementation as of January 1st, 2020

On May 7, 2019 the "Technical Comitted Number 12" (TC12) of the P.R. China published the implementation of the updated standard GB 15742:2019 Performance Requirements and Test Methods of Horn for Motor Vehicles.The effective date for the new revision is 01.01.2020. This standard is a part of the tests for the CCC certification of motor vehicles, as well as for the voluntary certification of vehicle horns.Applicants for new certificates can carry out tests according to the new revision from July 1st, 2019 in China.Existing certificate holders must apply to update their certificates by January 1st, 2020 at the latest. A test according to the new revision is required to update the certificates. In addition, the annual factory inspection for monitoring purposes will only be carried out once the test has been successfully completed. According current information, the updated certificate will not be issued until both actions have been successfully carried out. These actions must be completed by December 31, 2020 at the latest. Otherwise, the affected certificate will be suspended by the Chinese certification organization
